What to say about (one of) my favourite desserts?

Strawberry shortcake is a classic and needs no introduction or up-talk.  Although, I could offer a few adjectives in its praise: heavenly, scrumptious, creamy and all-around-wonderful.  My favourite version of strawberry shortcake is the individual short stacks.  The biscuit is pretty much a plain scone with some vanilla yogurt to give it flavour and moisture – and of course with delicious BUTTER!  What isn’t to love?

I had to make strawberry shortcake with the fresh berries Jonathan and I picked yesterday.  The strawberries are sweet little gems that were begging me to use them in another blog post.

Now, believe it or not, I am NOT trying to give Jonathan a heart attack with all these sweets.  I used 2% Greek yogurt for this version of strawberry shortcake – therefore avoiding the extra fat in whipping cream.  This version is…

Fear No Weebles

I’ve held off on posting about this because until recently, the search terms that bring people to my blog haven’t been all that funny.  But now I have a pretty decent crop to share with you.  None of them are dirty or really demented, though.  That disappoints me.  Obviously I’ll have to increase the naughty content here to get some good keywords for next time.

I’ve cut & pasted these directly from the stats page, no editing.  Thanks, crazy Internet people!

what is the psychic word for weebles
I think it’s “Veebles.”

whats is the metaphiscal word for weebles
Wow.  I would like to peer inside this person’s head to see what prompted this question.

what does it mean when everytime u see a weeble in yur house u think of a person
This puzzles me on many levels.  What’s with the Weebles in their house?  The way the question…

AstroNews

NASA astronomers announced Thursday they can now predict with certainty the next major cosmic event to affect our galaxy, sun, and solar system: the titanic collision of our Milky Way galaxy with the neighboring Andromeda galaxy.

The Milky Way is destined to get a major makeover during the encounter, which is predicted to happen four billion years from now. It is likely the sun will be flung into a new region of our galaxy, but our Earth and solar system are in no danger of being destroyed.

The solution came through painstaking NASA Hubble Space Telescope measurements of the motion of Andromeda, which also is known as M31. The galaxy is now 2.5 million light-years away, but it is inexorably falling toward the Milky Way under the mutual pull of gravity between the two galaxies and the invisible dark matter that surrounds them both.

Ties to a Small Town

On Friday, June 29 I was privileged enough to be able to attend “Fade to Black”–a play that summarized the details behind the Jodi Huisentruit case. Performed in Spring Valley, Minnesota, the play’s content was written by Gary Peterson and Josh Benson. Debi Neville of Brave Community Theater adapted the content for stage.

The performance itself, loaded with as much information that could be packed in to roughly 2 hours, captured two aspects of Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance. First, the disappearance. And second, the investigation. Both important components to understand given the limits of the still unsolved case.  The play was also centered around various excerpts of Jodi’s personal diary, found by family as her apartment was being cleaned out.

I could write thousands of words to clue you in on more of the case, but it would be worth your time, given your interest of this mystery, to check out www.findjodi.com

Fishing For Fashion

I recently purchased this awesome nail polish on Beautybay.com

This brand not only have a wide range of colours but it is different compared with Revlon, OPI, Missha and all those other brands out there. Reason being – it lasts!

I am not a huge sucker for nail polish nowadays, but have had an incentive to buy some for an ongoing hand/foot modeling job. Due to the type of work that I do during the day (relatively hands on) – compounding various medicines, popping out pills as I work in the pharmacy, I do subject my hands and nails to a lot of hard labour.

Anyway, I applied this nail polish on Saturday and it’s currently Wednesday so it’s been a good 5 days and it hasn’t chipped a bit yet.

Long lasting rating:5/5

I did apply a top coat on, so perhaps it does give an extra layer…

In other words

You may have heard that the latest ridiculous law suit comes from Oregon: Justin Bieber has been sued for $9 mil by a woman who claims screaming fans at a Bieber concert in 2010 destroyed her hearing! Oh my God! What did she expect?

Some time ago I mentioned an idea of my husband’s called “Common Sense Court” where frivolous/ridiculous/get-outta-here/hilarious/you’ve-got-to-be-kidding lawsuits are handled by a group of people who use common sense to resolve issues.

The harmed party in this suit says, “It was incredibly loud inside the arena thanks to Justin’s shrieking fans” and that Bieber made it “MUCH MUCH WORSE when he climbed into a heart-shaped aluminum/steel gondola which was pulled out into the crowd.” She says he “created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then [he] enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms…
